Hi I will be reading you blog for I want to know the real story not what the media spills to us and I have found this is the way to do so from blogs of those who were really there and willing to share with you. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
My best friend has just returned from Iraq at last after over a year, he was National Guards that was activated and is still active duty even now but at least he is back in the states and I have seen him.
I also have a blog but it is outside blogspot for I have my own domain...if you ever want to stop by it is wwww.alwaysvictoria.com

Thanks.
The National Guard have an even more difficult road than us Active duty members. We, the Active members, somewhat expect to go to War and that is our job in life. The Guardsmen and Reservists, although they are expected to go to War if called, have a much different life and much more change when they are called to serve.
When we deploy--we go; we come back.
When they deploy--they first mobilize and train in the states for a few months; then they go; then they come back and close up the "loose ends" before they go back to their normal lives. In all, their process takes 18 months for a 1 year deployment...
--hats off to them--
--Saltue to all of our men/women out there serving everyday.--
